My research areas include queer studies, comparative race and ethnicity, and popular culture. A member of the English Department at Vassar, I am also affiliated with Africana Studies, Latin American and Latino/a Studies, and Women's Studies. Some of the courses I have developed recently include “Racial Melodrama,” “Gay Harlem,” and “Queer of Color Critique.” I also regularly teach “Latina/o Literature” for English, cross-listed with Latin American & Latino/a Studies.
